There is No Troop Meeting on Monday, March 5th because of Spring Break.
Recharter! March is recharter month for Troop 536. Recharter fees are $60 for new Scouts, $50 for returning Scouts, and $10 per adult leader. Recharter fees are due by March 15th! It seems like a lot to pay for adults to donate your time to the Troop, but that's less than $1.00 per month to be a registered adult leader with Troop 536! That's cheap for the amazing amount of prestige which comes with the job! As always, if there is a problem with fees, please see me. The Troop will always work with you to help figure a way around obstacles! Troop Elections! Monday, March 12th, the Scouts will elect new leadership. All Scouts should be in attendance if at all possible. Any Scout that wishes to accept the challenge and run for a leadership position should have a speech prepared for when they declare their candidacy. Troop Committee Meeting! 7:30 Thursday, March 15th at Oak Point Center Any and all parents are invited to participate in the Troop Committee. This is where we conduct the business end of the Troop Program. Help us provide a solid program and qualified leadership for our Scouts. If anyone wishes to hold more of a position than simply "Committee Member", there are still several openings that we will need to fill at the meeting. Kwahadi Dance Team! Troop 536 is hosting a matinee show of the Kwahadi Dancers on Sunday, March 18th. We will need all of the Scouts to help out with this event because, although it is a really cool thing to do, it takes a lot of work to have it come out right. Our Troop will be hosting well over 300 guests, so we will all have to work hard, as well as work together, in order to make our Troop shine! Several Scouts have already volunteered to coordinate specific efforts. Scouts, please make sure your full Class "A" uniform is in proper order and looking spiffy! Scouts are to arrive at 12:00 at First UMC of Allen, 601 S. Greenville Ave in order to help with lunch and begin setup. Climbing! Our next campout is scheduled for March 23-25 at Worth Ranch where we will be rock climbing. Order of the Arrow Elections! March 26th is listed in the calendar as a PLC Meeting. However, the Scouts have scheduled OA elections for that day, so we will have a regular Troop Meeting with OA elections. |
